The Deputy Secretary-General held the virtual meeting with newly appointed Resident Coordinators to lend support to their COVID-19 relief plans.
The participating Resident Coordinators included Dr. Garry Conille for Jamaica, Fiona McCluney for Albania, and Irena Vojáčková-Sollorano for Iraq.
The Deputy Secretary-General extended a warm welcome and shared useful strategic pointers and encouragement for the new Resident Coordinators. They discussed avenues for supporting their countries’ recovery efforts, in keeping with the Global Sustainable Development Goals. Deputy Secretary-Genera Mohammed reaffirmed the full trust and support of the United Nations, as the new Resident Coordinators lead their United Nations Country teams.
