SPOTLIGHT INITIATIVE PROVIDES HELP FOR VICTIMS & SURVIVORS OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS

The World Bank Jamaica Country Gender Scorecard (2021) asserted that one in every four Jamaican women (25.2%) have experienced physical violence from a male partner whilst (47.3%) of every partnered women have been subjected to controlling behaviours. The Spotlight Initiative has been addressing such concerns through a multi-pronged approach directed at changing laws and policies, training sessions to heighten awareness of harmful gender norms and provision of facilities to support victims of gendered violence.
