Dr. Conille spoke at the anniversary launch event, which was held at The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston.
The Resident Coordinator congratulated JASL on their 30 years of transformative service to the people of Jamaica. He also highlighted the resilience of the organization, which often acts as a driving force for change. He shared:
"The truth is, we are facilitators and mobilizers of technical and financial resources, working in concert with you, the leaders in the development and the drivers of change. You have been on the ground before we have, and are often there, long after we leave. That is true resilience."
Dr. Conille encouraged the organization to build on this innovative work and rich experience while being guided by the People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and the communities they serve. JASL remains the oldest and largest human rights non-profit organization in Jamaica. They have done work in HIV education, prevention, treatment, and support, enabling environment and human rights strategic research.
