Newly-appointed Resident Coordinator Garry Conille meets with Prime Minister of Jamaica

Dr. Conille presented his Letter of Credence as the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Jamaica, to The Most Honourable Andrew Holness, ON, PC, MP
The Prime Minister welcomed Jamaica’s Senior United Nations Official and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the organization and the achievement of the global sustainable development goals.
Dr. Conille commended the Prime Minister on his successful re-election campaign and on Jamaica’s exemplary display of peaceful elections. The Resident Coordinator underscored that his tenure will be guided by Jamaica’s national priorities and supporting the government in meeting the mandate of the people. The various priorities discussed in their meeting included: crime and violence, non-communicable diseases, and rebuilding stronger from the COVID-19 pandemic through strategic and collaborative actions.
